Once at Amahoro Guest House, you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, markets, and banks since it is near the city’s main streets. The guest house has two double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and comfortable beds.
There are also three twin rooms with three beds for extra comfort. From your window you can enjoy views of the green garden or relax on the veranda.
Have a peaceful stay at Amahoro Guest House when you pack the right necessities for your gorilla trekking tour. Our gorilla trekking packing list covers the full list, but here are a few key items to carry.
Earth-Coloured Clothes
These are dull colours that do not attract insects, especially mosquitoes. For comfort, avoid bright colours that feel heavy on your body. Light clothes work best during the dry season when the sun is hot, while heavy clothes help in the rainy season when extra warmth is needed.
Waterproof Raincoats and Boots
Raincoats and boots are useful in the rainy season when the ground is wet and muddy. A raincoat protects you from the rain, and boots keep your feet from getting dirty.
If the rain is heavy, it is better to stay at Amahoro Guest House until it stops, since some places in the jungle can flood or become slippery. Our rainy season gorilla trekking guide covers what to expect during these months.
Water and Snacks
Bottled water is important for your journey because it is safe to drink and helps restore your energy, especially during long activities like trekking or climbing.
Snacks are also useful when you feel hungry in the jungle, far from the guest house.
First Aid Kit
Do not forget to carry a first aid kit when leaving Amahoro Guest House. Accidents can happen suddenly in the jungle. You should also know how to use some of the items in the kit, or travel with a medical person if possible. The kit should include any medicines your doctor recommends, to keep your trek or tour safe and calm. Our health and vaccination guide covers more on staying trek-ready.
Amahoro Guest House is a good choice if you plan to visit the gorillas of Rwanda.
