Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
Arrival at Entebbe international airport, pick up by our professional guide who will brief you about the 10 days’ luxury trip in Uganda. depending on your flight time, have breakfast in Kampala and drive to Murchison falls national park thereafter.
Optional enroute activity: Rhino trekking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up early for breakfast, head for the morning game drive that will expose you to Uganda’s wild game that include Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes, warthogs among others.
After lunch head for an evening boat launch that where a glance of the thunderous Murchison falls will be breathtaking. A number of aquatic species such as crocodiles, hippos and numerous beautiful bird species will also be seen on this Nile launch.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale, nocturnal walk
Have another Uganda adventure as you drive to Kibale national park, set off from Murchison falls national park after breakfast. Have late lunch on arrival in Kibale national park, relax and go for a nocturnal walk when night sets in.
This walk avails amazing views of unique forest residents such as Potto, bush baby, tree hyrax, nightjar and a serval cat among others. After a chilly walk in the green forest of Kibale, return to the lodge for a well deserving sleep.
Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation experience
Wake up early for a primate experience in the park. This activity requires one to have a habituation permit. This is a full day activity as you experience a specific troop of wild chimpanzees from their early morning awakes from the nest, breastfeeding, patrolling, playing to the making on their night nest.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth N/Park. 2pm boat cruise on Kazinga channel
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for another safari experience, check in at Mweya safari lodge or alternative and relax as you wait for lunch and a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel.
On this cruise, you get a chance to see beautiful Uganda kobs, buffaloes, elephants and various water birds relax and chill with the warm breeze as you view the amazing wildlife. After, return to the lodge for a warm dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Game drive experience
On this day prepare to have two game drive encounters, one in the morning and another in Ishasha sector in the afternoon. The morning game drive is a great opportunity to witness beautiful antelopes, elephants, warthog and the African leopards etc. in the Kasenyi sector.
Return for lunch at the lodge, and later drive to the Ishasha sector for a view of the spectacular tree climbing lions found not anywhere else in the savannah park.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi – home of mountain gorillas.
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to Buhoma sector, the northern sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park. This national park is found in the south western region of Uganda and is famously known for housing the endangered mountain gorillas.
On this day after arrival you will have a community visit to the Batwa people. These are the initial inhabitants together with the gorillas of Bwindi impenetrable forest before their displacement to the outside of the park.
You will have to experience the authentic culture of the Batwa people, through exhibition of their traditional dance, skills and cultural beliefs and practices.
Day 8: Gorilla tracking
After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, hike to the park headquarters for a briefing about one’s conduct during gorilla tracking. This northern sector of Bwindi has four habituated gorilla families that include Mubare, Habinyanja, Katwe and Rushegura.
You will be able to trek one of the gorilla families, spend one hour of interaction as you witness the interesting livelihoods of these mountain gorillas. See how they feed, play, wrestle and patrol around the green vegetation of the jungle. After this fantastic activity, head back for a warm meal and rest at lodge.
Day 9: Depart Bwindi to Lake Mburo national park and do cycling.
As you reminisce on the gorilla experience in Bwindi, prepare for another drive to Lake Mburo national park for another adventure. Have lunch after arrival as you get ready for a cycling tour through the park.
As you cycle, be able to see different beautiful wildlife species such as zebras, antelopes, buffaloes, birds and so much more. After check in at the lodge for chilling and relaxing.
Day 10: Return to Kampala
This day marks an end to the fantastic 10 days luxury safari around western Uganda. After your breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive back to Kampala for departure to your next destination.
