Safari in detail
Day 1: Pickup and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
From either your hotel or the lodge, expect a very lovely driver guide to meet you at the very agreed time. He will brief you about this lifetime adventure; explaining the acceptable behaviors in the country, the uniqueness of gorilla trekking, and respond to your concerns. Thereafter, you will start your 6-7 hours’ journey, having the first stopover at Kampala city for a city tour and Lunch, before enjoying a smooth ride to western Uganda, marked with undulating hills, lush forests, and green plantations.
You will arrive at your lodge in the gorilla trekking sector late in the evening, winding up the day with a mouth-watering meal and a peaceful nap.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa pygmies encounter
After breakfast, you will head to the sectors headquarters for a pre trekking briefing that starts very early in the morning by the park rangers who will narrate to you about life in the jungle, the gentle apes and then verify the trekking documents, followed by allocation of members to different gorilla groups and the ultimate gorilla trekking experience.
To locate where these gentle apes are relaxing, playing, or feeding, you will need about 1-6hours of navigating through the bushes, slopes, and valleys, while enjoying the beautiful sounds of the other residents here such as monkeys, birds, and reptiles. On finding your relatives; a reward of one extra hour is yours to watch the silverbacks, mothers breastfeeding and the youngsters somersaulting here and there, just like on the Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour.”
After the adventure, you will depart the jungle for lunch, followed by a rewarding 1-2 hour Batwa pygmies visit. The Batwa pygmies were hunters and gatherers in the tropical forest of Bwindi and Mgahinga, and have for years showcased their cultural heritage and beliefs. Depending on the time, you will visit the caves, enjoy local dances, songs, and donate to help the natives.
Day 3: Departure
At sunset, you will have a tasty breakfast meal at your lodge, followed by a 6-7 hours’ drive to Entebbe international airport or your hotel, with an en-route stopover at the equator for photography, mouthwatering lunch and watching the amazing demonstration at the equate line.
