Itinerary in details
Day 1: Pickup and city tour
In this fast day of the trip, you will have a warm welcome and reception by our experienced driver-guide, who will meet and brief you about the adventure, before hitting the streets to the different attractions around town such as the local markets, Independence monument, and the famous national museum.
When all is done, you will have Lunch in the city; do some shopping of the missing items, before proceeding to your hotel for refreshment and rest while waiting for the day’s voyage.
Day 2: Depart Kampala city for Kibale forest national park
After an amazing sleep, you will enjoy breakfast, before catching up with your drive to Kibale forest national park; the world’s primate wild, with one of the largest concentration of primates, and unique tree species in her jungle; 13 unique primates call home, though dominated by chimpanzees.
The drive to Kibale forest lasts for about 6-7 hours, through amazing sceneries, a smooth road, and lush vegetation, whereas giving clear views of the landscape. You will have an enroute lunch hour break, followed by getting to the lodge late afternoon for relaxation, dinner, and asleep.
Day 3: Primate trekking and Bigodi swamp exploration
After breakfast, you will drive to the park’s headquarters for registration and a pre trekking briefing; before getting deep into the heart of the Jungle where Humans closest relative; the Chimpanzees with over 98%Human DNA, and behaviors.
The answer to your quest comes after tussling with the hills, thick bushes, and the captivating echoes of the birds for approximately 1-6hours, but not forgetting the surprise appearance of other primates such as Columbus monkeys, greycheecked monkeys, and several others. There are over 13 unique primate species in this jungle inclusive of the Chimpanzees.
Upon meeting your cousins, one-hour allowance will be yours to catch the sight of the Apes playing, or resting on the treetops or bottom. After taking photos, and having all your questions about the chimpanzees and other primates answered.
Return to the lodge for a mothering Lunch, before visiting Bigodi swamp; One of the Rampsar sights rewarded with an abundance of flora, unique bird species, and locals carrying on with their daily chores. You will have a sunset drive to the Lodge for dinner and a night of peaceful sleep.
Day 4: Top of the world Crater walks and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will start this day with an energy-giving cup of coffee, followed by a 2-3 hours “top of the world” Hike; which will introduce you to a very breath-taking landscape on the planet, surrounded by green vegetation, craters and water bodies.
Afterwards, you will depart the park for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park; a medley of wonders and Uganda’s’ most visited national park. You will have Lunch en route, whereas dinner and a nap at the lodge, in or outside the park.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat cruise
After a delicious meal at the onset of the day, a rewarding 3-4 hours’ game drive follows, with hopes of spotting, as well as taking the snaps of the different residents such as the lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, giraffes, crested cranes, Rwenzori Turaco, monkeys and kobs among others. The landscape is another thing to smile at, before enjoying a lip-smacking picnic Lunch.
After Lunch, you will have an amazing afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise; home to a large concentration of hippos, crocodiles, birds, and mammals quenching their thirst by the shorelines. When everything is done, a sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and a nap is well deserving.
Day 6: Morning game drive and departure
After a very peaceful nap, you will rise for an early morning game drive across the park in search of some of the mammals you might have missed the previous day for about 3-4hours, especially the lions, leopards, hyenas, and several others.
Thereafter, you will have a bush breakfast, followed by a drive to the lodge to pick the luggage before hitting the road to Kampala or the airport, though an en-route stopover will be at the equator point for photo moments, lunch and witnessing the demonstrations.
