CTPH Gorilla Conservation Camp – Eco-Lodge Near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

CTPH Gorilla Conservation Camp

The natural beauty around CTPH Gorilla Conservation Camp is clear from the moment you look out through the banda window or veranda. The camp is located at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, giving you wide views of the forest canopy. The area is home to many bird species, including migratory birds that visit seasonally.

Visitors can also stop by the CTPH Gorilla Health and Conservation Center, which works together with Uganda Wildlife Authority. The center focuses on protecting endangered mountain gorillas and reducing the spread of diseases between gorillas and the local community.

The camp has a new guest house with five self-contained rooms and two tents, all set around a shaded dining area among the trees. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with both local and international dishes prepared by skilled chefs. Guests are well taken care of, ensuring they have the energy and comfort needed for their safaris.

Staying at CTPH Gorilla Conservation Camp makes it easier to take part in activities such as gorilla trekking. Treks often begin early in the morning to see gorillas carrying their young, searching for food, and moving as families. Guests staying nearby have the advantage of reaching the starting point quickly, unlike those staying far away who may miss out or spend too much time traveling.

Other activities include nature walks, where guests can explore the area within a few hours, and bird-watching, which allows you to spot many species. Visitors are reminded to stay calm and quiet while birding, as loud noise may disturb the birds. It is also important to leave the park as you found it and respect the privacy of both people and wildlife.
