Nshongi Camp – Gorilla Safari Lodge in Bwindi, Uganda

Prepare for your journey to Nshongi Camp early so you do not miss the adventure waiting at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The camp offers many unique activities, including a cultural gorilla dance performed by the Rushaga Young Stars.

Guests are welcome to join in once they learn the moves. For those who enjoy nature camping, there is space available, though you need to bring your own tent, bedding, and insect repellent to protect yourself from mosquitoes at night.

Nshongi Camp is close to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters, which is the starting point for gorilla trekking. The trek begins with a short briefing after guests have enjoyed breakfast at the camp.

During the trek, you will be guided on what to do and what to avoid while in gorilla land. Besides gorillas, the area is filled with birds and mammals that make the experience even richer.

The camp has six traditional African bandas equipped with modern facilities, including double beds, private bathrooms, mosquito nets, flush toilets, tables, and chairs. To enjoy your safari in comfort, it is advised to carry anti-malaria medication, bottled water, snacks for trekking, a first aid kit, and earth-colored clothes to avoid attracting insects.
